About the practice

Brazos Valley Medical

Care that stays with you

Our clinical team

Our clinical team is made up of board-certified psychiatrists and licensed psychotherapists who chose outpatient behavioral health because they believe in doing this kind of work with care and patience. Credentials matter to us — not as decoration, but because rigorous training shapes how our clinicians think, adapt, and show up for you across every stage of treatment.

Our story

Some things are easier to carry when someone is genuinely in your corner. At Brazos Valley Medical, we built this practice around that simple belief — that good mental health care feels less like a transaction and more like a trusted relationship that grows over time.

This practice came together because outpatient behavioral health in Texas was too often fragmented: people shuttled between providers who barely knew their names, let alone their histories. We wanted something different — a place where continuity is the default, not a luxury, and where therapy is the throughline of everything we do.

How we work

Therapy as the foundation

Psychotherapy sits at the center of our clinical model, not as an add-on but as the primary vehicle for change. Whether you come to us for talk therapy alone or alongside psychiatric care, your therapeutic relationship gets the time and attention it deserves.

Continuity you can count on

We believe the relationship between a clinician and a client is itself therapeutic. You'll see the same provider across sessions, building a shared understanding that makes the work more meaningful and more effective over time.

Enough time in every session

We don't schedule appointments back-to-back with no room to breathe. Our clinicians are given the space to actually listen, and you're given the space to actually speak — because rushed care is rarely good care.

Integrated psychiatric and therapy care

When a client benefits from both medication management and therapy, our psychiatry and psychotherapy teams communicate directly — no faxed notes, no guessing. That coordination keeps your care coherent and your experience smoother.

What we hold ourselves to

  • Relationship before protocol. we let the therapeutic alliance develop before we assume we know what you need, because trust is the ground everything else grows from.
  • Honesty about what we do and don't offer. we'll tell you plainly when a different level of care or a different specialist might serve you better, because your outcome matters more than our caseload.
  • Warmth without condescension. we take your struggles seriously and treat you as the expert on your own life, not a list of symptoms to be managed.
  • Evidence-informed, not evidence-rigid. our clinicians draw from established research, but they apply it with flexibility, because you are not a clinical trial.
  • Presence over paperwork. our systems and workflows exist to protect the quality of clinical time, not to bury it under administrative friction.
  • Continuity as an ethical commitment. we believe that dropping someone from care mid-treatment without a clear plan is a failure of professional responsibility, and we work hard to prevent it.

When you're ready, we are too.
