Our care

What we offer

01

Couples & Family Care

Relational work is some of the most nuanced care we offer, and we approach it with the seriousness it deserves. Whether you and a partner are navigating a specific conflict, a life transition, or deeper patterns that keep repeating, our therapists provide a structured space where both people feel heard rather than judged. Family sessions follow the same philosophy: less referee, more guide.

Psychotherapy

Individual therapy here is shaped around you rather than a predetermined curriculum. Our licensed therapists work across a range of evidence-based modalities and will work with you to identify the approach that fits your particular needs and goals. Sessions have room for real conversation, for sitting with difficulty, and for making genuine progress at a pace that respects where you are.

Specialty Care

Beyond general outpatient therapy and psychiatry, we've developed focused clinical programming for adults navigating specific conditions and life circumstances that benefit from a more structured approach. These programs bring together the right combination of therapy modalities, psychiatric support, and clinical coordination so that care feels cohesive rather than piecemeal.

Telehealth

Our secure video platform makes it possible to receive the same quality of care you'd get in an office without the commute, the waiting room, or the scheduling gymnastics. Telehealth at Brazos Valley Medical is available for most of our services and is especially practical for adults across Texas whose work schedules or geography make in-person visits harder to sustain. The care itself doesn't change — just the room.

Psychiatry & Medication Management

Psychiatric care at Brazos Valley Medical is diagnostic, collaborative, and unhurried. Our board-certified psychiatrists conduct thorough evaluations before any treatment decisions are made, and medication management is always discussed in the context of your full picture — your therapy, your history, your daily life. You won't leave an appointment unsure of why a recommendation was made.

About the practice

Brazos Valley Medical

Some things are easier to carry when someone is genuinely in your corner. At Brazos Valley Medical, we built this practice around that simple belief — that good mental health care feels less like a transaction and more like a trusted relationship that grows over time.

Our clinical team is composed of board-certified psychiatrists and independently licensed therapists (psychologists, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors). We deliver care both in person and through secure telehealth, and we work with most major commercial insurance plans.

Common questions

Frequently asked

How soon can I typically get an initial appointment after I reach out?
We work to schedule new clients as promptly as our availability allows, and our intake team will give you an honest timeline when you first contact us. If there is a short wait, we'll keep the process moving so you're not left wondering about next steps.
Is telehealth available for all of your services, or only certain ones?
Secure video appointments are available for most of our individual therapy, psychiatric care, and specialty program sessions. Couples and family sessions may also be conducted via telehealth depending on the situation. We'll confirm what's available for your specific care needs during scheduling.
What credentials do your clinicians hold, and how do you verify them?
Our psychiatrists are board-certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and our therapists hold active licensure in Texas at the appropriate clinical level for independent practice. Credentials are verified at time of hire and maintained in accordance with state licensing requirements, so you can be confident the person you're seeing is fully qualified to provide the care you're receiving.
